The Fashion Hero Episode 1 Filming (Riviera Maya, Mexico)

Over the past week and a half, I flew down to sunny Riviera Maya, Mexico and spent November 6 – November 13th at the beautiful Grand Serenis hotel filming for the first episode & season of The Fashion Hero.

The Fashion Hero is an international casting event and television series. Its mission is to change the unhealthy and unrealistic standards of the fashion and beauty industry, by bringing people who do not fit the traditional norms of this industry, giving them a chance to be selected by international brands and model in one of their advertising campaigns. Check out the Fashion Hero TV Show Promo below

I was so blessed to have such an amazing experience during the week’s filming of The Fashion Hero.  I was even more thankful to represent Laboratoire Dr. Renaud. What an amazing skin care line! The best thing about Dr. Laboratoire Renaud is that this line has products for all skin types.  This is very appealing to me as a woman with a darker complexion. For dry skin, Dr. Renaud’s SensiDerm Cleansing Milk removes the day’s impurities, bringing the skin back to its natural luster.  For oily skin, try Dr. Renaud’s SeboBalance Anti-Aging fluid for a healthier texture and younger looking skin.  Goodbye bad skin, Hello radiance! :)

My favorite part of the week was filming my commercial for Dr. Laboratoire Renaud, and to boot, my now-Fiance (boyfriend at the time) flew down and surprised me with an engagement ring--He popped the big question! Of course I said yes :). So, I have no complaints for the week. We also had a little segment filmed on the engagement proposal so please look out for this when the show airs.

My brand manager, Anne Marie Caron was super professional and very sweet. It was really nice getting to know her and all of the girls with my brand.  Below is a photo of me and Anne Marie.

Everyone was amazing and I formed some lasting friendships.  As a plus, I got to practice my French, since a lot of the group were from Montreal and spoke French.

3 stars for a great week overall!

Check out more photos below from the week’s filming and I got to enjoy some time by the waves as well.

A Story of Love, Dance & Love of Dance

Rian Dugar had been dancing for nearly 5 years when he met Tabethia Jones in 2011 and together they created Team 2.0, a dance duo that combines ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop and many other styles, in essence forming a “New Style” of dance. Their prodigious talents have earned them notable recognition in St. Louis, Missouri as they perform and teach classes frequently around St. Louis and have begun to expand nationwide as they’ve performed at World Of Dance NYC and at the Empire State Building.

But Team 2.0 is not merely about the dance moves. They use dance as a vehicle to help at-risk kids by keeping them off the street, using dance as an outlet instead of fighting or acting out. Team 2.0 has positively impacted a number of youth, and some adults, through their workshops. What’s more is that within 2.0’s journey of healing through dance, Rian and Tabethia have created their own journey—of love. The happy couple is engaged with plans to marry in the near future.

Please check out the featured article written on them in Winners Within Us Magazine by yours truly (me) by clicking here.  The article was also featured as 'Reader's Choice'

To get a visual glimpse of Team 2.0 in other media, check out their KSDK, News Channel 5 Story by clicking here followed by a video showcasing their dance moves and photos (below) of the duo holding dance workshops for the (adorable) youth.

Wolf & The DreamKiller

Last weekend, I ventured off to Sunny LA to shoot a scene in the movie Wolf & The Dreamkiller, a production written and produced by Stephen Salter and directed by Stephen Ilous.  The production centers on an investigation of a Hollywood, California serial killer, ‘The Dream Killer,’ and a canine who—striking a loving relationship with the head detective on this case--is the only witness-source who can possibly reveal the identity of the killer.

I play the role of Lesley Hendricks, a KCAN California News reporter in Hollywood California who makes the first announcement that the Dream Killer is on the loose.

For my scene, shot last weekend, we sauntered on down to Hollywood Boulevard--where the characters are plentiful (to say the least)--and set up shop just in front of the Chinese Theatre.

After a few takes, we got the footage we needed and the director and producer put together this suspenseful scene.  Dun dun dunnnnn (*thriller movie music*).

This clip will be one of several enticing scenes in this sure-to-keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat film.

Check out some other footage from Wolf & The Dreamkiller.

Wolf and the Dreamkiller - Test Footage 01 - August 2014 from Stephen Salter on Vimeo.

The star of the film is none other than Kyro, a beautiful husky wolf hybrid who is already climbing the stairway to stardom as he has been in several spreads and productions already, including being featured in the Chris Brown feat Tyga music video 'For the Road,' and Linkin Park’s 'Final Masquerade' music video.  Check them out below.

Can we say Stud??

Watch out b*tches (female dogs, that is), this sexy man beast is coming to a theatre near you.
